    Überlagerung von periodischen Strukturen
This paper deals with the superposition of periodical structures. A structure is a space or time filled with discrete objects. It is periodical if there exist translations mapping the structure on itself. Only structures in a two-dimensional space are regarded. The main part investigates the plane isometric features of those superpositions. Single periodical structures as well as double periodical structures are considered. Another issue is the relation between superpositions and tilings. The technical applications of periodical structures eg in printing are also discussed. The last chapter looks on patterns similar to the superposition of periodical structures first in nature and then by mathematical methods.

    Security-Pattern Recognition and Validation
The increasing and diverse number of technologies that are connected to the Internet, such as distributed enterprise systems or small electronic devices like smartphones, brings the topic IT security to the foreground. We interact daily with these technologies and spend much trust on a well-established software development process. However, security vulnerabilities appear in software on all kinds of PC(-like) platforms, and more and more vulnerabilities are published, which compromise systems and their users. Thus, software has also to be modified due to changing requirements, bugs, and security flaws and software engineers must more and more face security issues during the software design; especially maintenance programmers must deal with such use cases after a software has been released. In the domain of software development, design patterns have been proposed as the best-known solutions for recurring problems in software design. Analogously, security patterns are best practices aiming at ensuring security. This thesis develops a deeper understanding of the nature of security patterns. It focuses on their validation and detection regarding the support of reviews and maintenance activities. The landscape of security patterns is diverse. Thus, published security patterns are collected and organized to identify software-related security patterns. The description of the selected software-security patterns is assessed, and they are compared against the common design patterns described by Gamma et al. to identify differences and issues that may influence the detection of security patterns. Based on these insights and a manual detection approach, we illustrate an automatic detection method for security patterns. The approach is implemented in a tool and evaluated in a case study with 25 real-world Android applications from Google Play.

    Graph-Transfromational Swarms : A Graph-Transformational Approach to Swarm Computation
Computer systems are becoming increasingly distributed and interconnected. Various emerging notions, such as smart grids, system of systems, industry 4.0 or cyber-physical systems have gained more and more importance during the last few years. All of them propose to solve engineering problems by using several autonomous components that act in parallel and are interconnected, foremost using Internet technologies. These emerging concepts look very promising, but also exhibit various technical challenges. For instance, how is it possible to develop decentralized control mechanisms that produce a desired emerging behavior to solve a given task or how to model such solutions in order to analyze their behavior in terms of complexity and correctness? These are two major questions that this thesis attempts to answer. Indeed, it provides graph-transformational swarms as a novel concept that combines the ideas and principles of swarms and swarm computing and the formal methods of graph transformation to model distributed systems. Graph-transformational swarms captures the advantages of swarms and swarm computing and of graph transformation.

The demise of data privacy in the era of surveillance capitalism
Data privacy is a critical phenomenon. It is characterised as a state in which an individual’s data remains confidential, including the current era of surveillance capitalism, where individuals constantly provide their data in return for navigating websites and applications owned by tech surveillance capitalist companies on the Internet. This is important and complex at the same time, especially in this era, where individuals’ data can easily be compromised. The seriousness and critical nature of this situation urge us to examine the current situation of individuals’ data privacy within websites and applications owned by tech surveillance capitalist companies. To achieve the results of this investigation, we formulate three hypotheses. 1) Individuals and tech surveillance capitalist companies share the responsibility for demising data privacy. 2) Tech surveillance capitalist companies maximise surplus-value by exploiting individuals’ invaluable data, invaluable data which contains personal and other individuals’ data. And 3) Individuals’ data privacy is demised through the usage of dataveillance and deceptive patterns by tech surveillance capitalist companies. In Hypothesis One, we seek to examine who is responsible for the termination of data privacy: the owners of personal data, surveillance capitalism, or both. In Hypothesis Two, we critically examine the exploitation of invaluable data in software updates and upgrades, new hardware development, and targeted advertising to increase the surplus-value of these companies. In Hypothesis Three, we investigate the tools used by tech surveillance capitalist companies to collect substantially more data than they need. The results of these three hypotheses are highly concerning. The results of Hypothesis One reveal that tech surveillance capitalist companies compromise data privacy, and individuals play a role through their decisions. Factors such as age, education, culture, and economic status shape this behaviour of individuals. Despite concerns about privacy, individuals continue to depend on these companies because of Internet addiction, convenience, and perceived advantages. The results of Hypothesis Two emphasise the conflict perspectives between individuals and tech surveillance companies. While for individuals, personal data needs protection, for companies, it is valuable and must be exploited to gain direct and indirect surplus-value. Finally, the results from Hypothesis Three show that at the collection level, individuals begin to lose the confidentiality of their data through the dataveillance operations of tracing, observing, and seeking data. Deceptive patterns are also used in legal consent forms to collect more data than necessary.

Freestyle Markup Language: Spezifikation einer polyhierarchischen Auszeichnungssprache
This paper provides a new generation of a markup language by introducing the Freestyle Markup Language (FML). Demands placed on the language are elaborated, a grammatical definition and a corresponding object graph are presented and a reference implementation is introduced. The result of this paper is a complete specification of FML. Today, the Extensible Markup Language (XML) is broadly accepted as a standardized serialization format and universal transfer syntax. XML allows the markup of content according to the well-formedness constraints ('properly nested') only in strict mono-hierarchical structures markup in non-hierarchical or multi-hierarchical structures is not inherently provided in the language: This deficit is sufficiently commented and represents a problem for many application scenarios. Moreover, further restrictions exist that complicate an unlimited use of XML in practice and prohibit an intuitive 'freestyle' markup. The fact that markup languages are not only used in the original sense in the typographic field but mostly and increasingly for any data structures confirms the necessity to further develop present markup standards, in analogy to the evolution of data structures from lists via table relations and trees up to graphs. The descriptive markup language FML consolidates deficit discourses, discussions as well as solution approaches and will offer a 'freestyle markup' beyond purely hierarchical structures.

Kooperative Errichtung der Offshore-Windenergie : Konzeptionelle Entwicklung einer lieferketten- und projektübergreifenden Logistikgestaltung
In this thesis, the topic of planning and control in the network of the construction phase of offshore wind energy is considered. The needs of the industry for change and optimisation motivate a scientific discourse that goes beyond existing boundaries. The result of this work comprises the proof of the efficiency increase potentials by resource and information sharing in the construction phase of offshore wind energy by means of simulation, the definition of the requirements for a solution approach for the collaborative design and cooperative execution of the construction, a concept for the realization of these potentials, as well as the empirically supported development of the success factors for the implementation of the developed approach in practice.

Control Conditions for Transformation Units : Parallelism, As-long-as-possible, and Stepwise Control
The concept of graph transformation units is a formal and as well intuitive means to model processes on graphs. Thereby the control condition of a transformation unit plays an important role. It provides so to say the intelligence of the unit by describing its desired behaviour. The thesis regards control conditions focusing on two aspects: expressivity and practicability. Considering expressivity it implements two kinds of control conditions, as-long-as-possible and parallel expressions. As their names imply these control conditions are able to express the as-long-as-possible iteration respectively parallel composition of already described behaviour. Focusing on practical executability the thesis introduces the concept of stepwise control conditions. Whereas conventional control conditions in principle describe desired behaviour their computation may take a long time, since first all possible derivations have to be computed and then are checked against the control condition. Stepwise control conditions allow to directly guide the derivation process and so may save computation time.

Verquickung der mathematischen und informatischen Forschung an zivilen deutschen Hochschulen mit der modernen Kriegsführung
Central aspects of modern warfare such as drone attacks, guided missiles, cyber attacks or the use of reconnaissance satellites would not be possible without contemporary mathematical and computer science research. This dissertation will revolve about the following questions: What impact does the connection between military application and civil research have on mathematics and computer science? What impact does the research have on society? And what ethical and societal questions arise from that?
