Social Work Practice Education and the Pandemic: An Introduction

Abstract: | As an introductory chapter of a corresponding edited volume, this text describes the book’s main background and conceptual considerations and the book chapters’ main content. The starting point of the chapter is the COVID-19 pandemic and its long-term consequences, especially its general impacts on social work and social work practice education. Subsequently, the general design, the key concepts, and the main contexts of the book are characterized to provide a first understanding of the matter. After these general considerations, the chapter then describes the book’s three main parts and its fifteen chapters’ content. Finally, this introductory chapter closes with general acknowledgments. |
