Other Titles: | Groundwater in Bremen-Nord in three dimensions - coupling of a structural model and a flow model | Authors: | Jensen, Sven | Supervisor: | Schulz, Horst D. | 1. Expert: | Schulz, Horst D. | Experts: | Mörz, Tobias | Abstract: | The aim of the submitted work is the combination of a structural model and a flow model. Problematic is the demonstration to what extent a 3D structural model can be used as a data basis for a flow model. A new way of connecting the models in conjunction with the focus on the flow model is discussed. Two steps are compulsory for the construction of the model. First, a 1-layer flow model will be constructed which defines the model boundaries. This 1-layer flow model will be utilized to compute the transmissivity after the installation of the sampling well, measuring gauges, drainage systems, and fixed potential margins. The second step focuses on the creation of a 5 layer model which takes the structures of the geology of the Quaternary of the subsurface into account. The work describes how the results of a 3D structural model can be used for the construction of that flow model. The model takes advantage of geographic data and demonstrates technical disadvantages and constraints of the utilized software. One advantage of the more complex model is the possibility of modeling the influence of withdrawal wells and measuring points in respect to their real depth. |
