Independently of their size, enterprises have to deal with the increasing complexity of environmental factors and dynamics, for instance, demographic change. The focus of interest in this investigation concentrates on the relevance of diversity management for SMEs (small and middle-sized enterprises) in the wind energy sector in Germany. The aim of this qualitative and explorative study is the examination of the general hypothesis: "Diversity management is an especially effective, but underused tool for employee retention and acquisition in the SME sector of the wind energy industry." The empiric results reveal among other factors the publicity and the relevance of diversity management in the view of SMEs in the wind energy industry and other experts, as well as other measures taken for securing engineering skills and employment structures in SMEs of the wind energy sector. |
