Item-typ:Veröffentlichung, The psychological basis for Firearm-Relates Evaluation according to the new firearm law: An Investigation of psychological constructs for the operationalisation of the legal terms personal eligibility and mental maturity, and the evaluation of a test-battery for the evaluation of these notionsThe tragic events of Erfurt in 2002 have shaken up society. As a result being under high social pressure the government enacted a supplementary law to prevent others from committing comparable crimes.Legal owners of weapons and their associations as well as people occupied with firearms by profession reacted spontaneously and intensely upon this act. An acute and emotional discussion was set going. The Author (Institute of Psychology of law, Universität Bremen) has made it his business to investigate the psychological dimension of this psychological construct of personal eligibility. The present doctoral thesis focuses on the not sufficiently defined legal term of personal eligibility as a precondition for the ownership of and handling with firearms as a direct answer of legislation to the violent act of Erfurt. By psychological methods of testing the legal term of personal eligibility is made operative and thus psychological testings makes the legal term personal eligability operative and finaly provides a strong basis for forensic evaluations.Dissertation587 647 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item-typ:Veröffentlichung, Kennwerte psychologischer Testverfahren(2001-07-17); ; ; The work "Kennwerte psychologischer Testverfahren" contains an introduction and three articles. The introduction clarifies the meaning and use of coefficients to evaluate the quality of a test, such as reliability or validity. The introduction closes with five new coefficients to describe different aspects of a test: "Ausdehnung", "Ausschöpfung", "Differenziertheit", "Mess-Effizienz" and "Personenunterscheidungsvermögen". The first article concerns criteria of usability, which help to distinguish a poorly understandable coefficient from a good one. The coefficient "Differenziertheit" is based on the critical difference of test scores and shows how many of these differences fit on the whole scale. The second article proposes the term "Personenunterscheidungsvermögen" (PUV). This index allows one to estimate the expectation (probability) of (statistically) different scores. One advantage of this coefficient is that it is independent of the test theoretical foundation of psychometric assessment, which makes it possible to use the same coefficient for categorical and metric constructs. This index as well fulfils most of the criteria of usability. The last article presumes differences in the variability of a psychological dimension and shows how to display these differences. For this purpose, a new kind of standardization based on the differences of probabilities is shown which can be derived from the application of a Rasch scale. This application, to measure the spreedness (Ausdehnung) of a psychological dimension, leads to a new interpretation of a Rasch scale. This article is in press in the journal "Zeitschrift für Differentielle und Persönlichkeitspsychologie". This new coefficient offers many new possibilities, such as testing construct validity or choosing those dimensions for prediction that show bigger differences between persons. Item-typ:Veröffentlichung, Die Wirkung von gruppenzentrierter Psychodrama-Therapie in der Behandlung von Kindern aus Trennungs- und ScheidungsfamilienBased on the concept of Aichinger this study investigates the specific effect of group-centred psychodrama therapy on children from divorced families using a design of pre-, post-, and process-diagnosis.Five hypotheses about the change of behaviour and experience of the children during the therapy are examined (i.e. expressions of worrying feelings, assigning problematic family situations for discussion, building-up the importance of one´s own value, handling aggressiveness, building-up of positive social contacts to children of the same age). Data acquisition resulted from the basis of videorecording of therapy sessions. The evaluation was done with a system of categories for the recording of play topics and of the speech- and action- levels, emerged from the play actions, which was also used for the categorisation of contents of children´s expressions in the diagnostic investigation. The frequency of this contents and of the various qualities of interaction behaviour, recorded by rating-scales, was analysed.Result: The children of the sample preferably brought in such topics on the symbolic level into the play which contained their internal experiencing, connected with the separation of parents. The predicted trends were confirmed: At the end of the therapy the children discussed worrying feelings, problematic family-relations and aggressiveness not as much as at the beginning. They more frequently discussed positive self value components and positive social behaviour. The number of positive social contacts with other children increased, aggressive behaviour in the course of the therapy decreased. The category system, developed in the investigation, proved to be appropriate for the recording of topics in the play actions as well as for the verbal expressions in the diagnostic. The symbolic play of the children in the therapy contained topics from their everyday life reality, which could be treated there representatively and symbolically and thus be overcome.Dissertation425 986 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item-typ:Veröffentlichung, Eine Essstörung ist keine E s s -Störung : Überlebensanleitung für Angehörige ; Lesebuch mit Arbeitsheft ; Entwicklung und Evaluation einer Selbsthilfe-Anleitung für Angehörige Essgestörter.(2014-04-14); ; ; Objective: In the face of long waiting lists for professional guidance the question was examined, whether relatives of persons with an eating disorder can be included in the therapeutic process by the use of selfhelp material. Sample: 55 parents of persons with an eating disorder, selfselective sample. Method: A selfhelp reading book with accompanying workbook for relatives of persons with an eating disorder was developed and tested for its usefulness. The participants tried and rated the work materials. Data of those, who rated the material especially helpful, were compared to the data of those, who rated the book below average. Demographic data were analyzed as well as statements of the participants about the entire book and about the individual topics. Results: The selfhelp manual was accepted as helpful above average by a broad variety of parents of persons with an eating disorder, especially by members of families with significantly more mental problems and with a tendency of less out-patient experience. Participants, who found the book especially helpful, invested more time, completed more feedback- and work-sheets, returned more workbooks and rated the book more understandable - whereas the understandable-ratings were not related to educational level. The most important topics concerned managing feelings, self-care and body-related self-esteem. Participants, who rated the material especially helpful, contributed more critical and improvement remarks, too. Conclusions: Relatives of persons with an eating disorder can be included in the therapeutic process by the use of selfhelp material.Dissertation1232 1203
