Authors: | Friz, Katharina | Supervisor: | Günther, Jutta | 1. Expert: | Günther, Jutta | Experts: | Rochlitz, Michael | Abstract: | This paper consists of three contributions that focus on the innovation behavior of firms from transition countries in the context of crises and on political support in the context of geopolitical and economic tensions. The papers analyze how the 2008/2009 financial crisis affected firms' innovation activities, the determinants of firms' environmental innovation in the context of the ongoing climate crisis, and presidential support in the context of the Crimean annexation and the economic downturn in Russia. These empirical papers are embedded in an introduction that draws on evidence from these three different economic and political crises and provides an overview of the transition histories of the countries under consideration, followed by a comprehensive review of the theoretical framework. |
