Nachhaltigkeitsbilanzierung von Waldseilgärten : Eine Fallstudie am Beispiel des Waldseilgartens der Mainau Erlebniswald GmbH in Konstanz

Natural experiences, search for extremes and self-awareness as well as a demand for an intact environment are great trends of our western society in the 21st century. People often combine their leisure activities with a stay in nature. The leisure- and tourism-sector takes up the trends and provides offers that combine these. Amongst these things, since the beginning of the nineties, the recreation facility forest ropes course, which is illustrated more precisely in this work, has been developed. Meanwhile, these recreational facilities are very popular and attract many visitors to forest areas. This development can lead to negative as well as to positive effects for humans and nature, which are largely unexplored. In this work, these effects are investigated in more detail. At least since the Brundtland-Report in 1987, the awareness of sustainable development on our planet has grown and is being transferred to many areas, including the leisure- and tourism-sector. As a result, measurement instruments have emerged which enable an assessment of sustainable development. Different methods are used to develop an own measuring instrument. With the result, a balancing-catalog for forest ropes courses, the integration of the sustainability principle is measured and assessed on the basis of the Mainau Erlebniswald GmbH, a selected company in the field in the region of Konstanz. The results are summarized and recommendations for action for the business are given. Finally the work is being critically considered on the basis of the scientific question "How strongly does the principle of sustainabil-ity apply in the ongoing operation of forest ropes courses?" and also in relation to other aspects of this work. The gained knowledge is presented and from that, an outlook, regarding to the top-ical focus sustainability and forest ropes courses, is given.
