Other Titles: | HEALTH PROMOTING WORK ORIENTATION IN EDUCATIONGenesis and Perspectives of an Innovative Task | Authors: | Beer, Klaus | Supervisor: | Milles, Dietrich | 1. Expert: | Milles, Dietrich | Experts: | Müller, Rainer | Abstract: | Health promoting work orientation is a concept designed to integrate the furtherance and preservation of health as well as the formation and strengthening of physical resources into a work related education. The aim is to organise productive and health conscious experiences against the frequent individualisation of social responsibility and the normalisation of health hazards.Especially in the field of "Arbeitslehre" there exists a long and copious, though often repressed tradition which refers to the possibilities inherent in the junction of work, health and education. The approach of a labour school in particular serves to open education towards the more complex tasks of social life and unfolds elements of productive work in community. This way, tuition as a project-related experience, as well as education itself can be understood as productive and creative work. Moreover, by means of its relation to labour, the paedagogical interest in health promotion shall be targeted at the reality of our working society. Here, school itself can be subjected to work-oriented health promotion, so that the effort put into the achievement of a "healthy school" will expand to the living and working conditions in school, and the pupils' capability of action and accomplishment will be developed practically. In applied teaching units desigend to pave the way into gainful employment (school to work transition), health will be introduced as a topic of central and superior value in order to overcome or at least attenuate the respective clashs of interests or even society-related splits. |
