Other Titles: | Participants in further education: requirements for and expectations of support in organized teaching and learning processes of adult learners. | Authors: | Wagner, Sina | Supervisor: | Kil, Monika | 1. Expert: | Kil, Monika | Experts: | Schlutz, Erhard | Abstract: | The main object of this survey is what kind of support structures adult learners in further education expect from the setting, the teacher and the institution itself. Is it possible to distinguish different needs by age, educational background or personal factors like self-efficacy or foreknowledge? To answer these questions a questionnaire called OrTe was developed that contains personal variables, support expectations and contentment with the current learning situation. The questionnaire was pretested, adapted and distributed in 22 different institutions with a sample of 1.710 questionnaires that could be used for further calculations and analysis of variance. As a result, it was possible to distinguish personal factors that correlate significantly with different support expectations and commitment with the institution as well as contentment with the learning situation in general. Here, especially 'interest' and 'foreknowledge' show a strong influence on the effort one is willing to make in the learning process and satisfaction. |
