Zusammenfassung
The essay tackles the question: How are the world and our methods to encounter it bound to each other? It exemplifies the principle of methodological encorporation, drawing upon recent works and projects from arts, architecture, and community archiving, from South-Eastern European contexts, all dealing with the issue of societal transformation.
At the core lies a critical assessment of epistemic functionalism, automatically searching for or applying rather fixed scopes, or functions, to any human activity observed. The essay contrasts this very popular methodoligcal presupposition with the principle of encorporation, situating the agents within their societal context, and understanding action as a continuous interdependent interaction between both.
