Other Titles: | Regulation des anaeroben Katabolismus aromatischer Verbindungen und der Sulfatreduktion in Desulfobacula toluolica Tol2 | Authors: | Jacob, Jacob H. | Supervisor: | Rabus, Ralf | 1. Expert: | Rabus, Ralf | 2. Expert: | Widdel, Friedrich | Abstract: | The metabolic regulation of the aromatic-compounds degrading sulfate-reducing bacteria Desulfobacula toluolica Tol2 in response to the availability and adaptation to aromatic growth substrates (toluene, phenylacetate, p-cresol, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, p-hydroxybenzoate and benzoate) was studied by a combined physiological/proteomic approach. Also, regulation of key subunits of dissimilatory sulfate reduction pathway (adenosine-5'-phosphosulfate reductase subunit A, dissimilatory sulfite reductase subunit A and dissimilatory sulfite reductase subunit B) was studied under different electron-acceptor conditions (growth with sulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate or a mixture of sulfate, sulfite and thiosulfate) utilizing benzoate as aromatic growth substrate. |
