Qualitative sicht-basierte Navigation in unstrukturierten Umgebungen

Navigation and localization is one of the most fundamental tasks to be accomnplished by natural and artificial cognitive systems. In the the present doctoral thesis we present a quantitative approach to navigation which strictly relies on ordering information. It is shown that qualitative spatial information, i.e., ordering information, can be sufficient for navigation tasks even in the face of lacking and/or uncertain (sensor-)information.
