Experts: | Buhl, Josef-Christian | Abstract: | Syntheses of gallogermanate sodalites, investigations on respective room-temperature and temperature-dependent structure-property relationships as well as studies on the thermal expansion behavior of these sodalites are reported. Syntheses and crystal structures of gallogermanate tetrahydroborate |Na8(BH4)2|[GaGeO4]6 and nitrite |Na8(NO2)2|[GaGeO4]6 sodalites are presented for the first time. For the gallogermanate tetrahydroborate sodalite the temperature-dependent properties were compared to the behavior of the isotypic aluminosilicate, aluminogermanate and gallosilicate tetrahydroborate sodalites by in-situ X-ray diffraction and FTIR spectroscopy. Synthesis screening within reinvestigations of gallogermanate chloride sodalite lead to the discovery of the novel gallogermanate compound Na2H4Ga2GeO8 with NaO6 octahedra helices and TO4 four-ring chain arrangement. Additionally, large gallogermanate chloride-hydro sodalite single crystals with an internal chemical gradient were obtained. |
