Ou[te]r Campus explores the European campus as more than a physical place: an interconnected social, cultural, and spatial ecosystem shaped by encounters, experiences, and everyday practices. Building on the 2025 Interspace module, the living laboratory brought this question into design education through a participatory, real-world process. Over four months, 60 students and faculty from nine STARS EU Alliance universities collaborated across disciplines and cultures, exploring identity and belonging, sustainability, inclusion, integration, networking, and exchange. Through experimentation and co-creation, ideas were developed, prototyped, and tested. Student teams from the School of Architecture Bremen transformed these ideas into five proposals: INTEGRATE.EU · STARSCAPE · RE-LAY · GROWING TREE · STARS EU WEEK
The alliance now becomes the testing ground for these prototypes—turning a shared vision of European higher education into lived experience.
